Paper Ball throwing

For the 8th season of the UKTV (soon to be moving to channel 4) show Taskmaster, the contestants had to pass a beach ball the most distance through filming it and using a match-on-action shot to seem as if they are passing the ball to each other.

Bus stop Montage

For this task, we had to create a minute long montage of someone missing a bus, waiting for it and then either getting the next one or missing the second bus. We used lots of jump cuts to create the montage effect. Here is the video we created:

Awkward situation remake

Here is my response to the awkward situation video we have been set to re-create.

Gold Rush plan

The Gold Rush Remake   The scene we have is when Chaplin's character cooks his shoe and eats it as they have run out of food. In the film, the scene appears at 15:00 minutes.  Costume - Most of costume will be provided by the actors so it is the proper size but a coat and fake                    moustache will be provided from existing supplies plus a cane Cast - Little Fellow: George Cooke            Big Jim: Marcus Bale Props - Old black shoe (charity shop or one not in use)              Strawberry laces for the laces so that they can be eaten              Black liquorice to look like shoe but is edible              A range of cutlery and plates to serve the shoe              Scarf to wrap around little fellow's foot Settin...

Get Off My Land Evaluation

Get Off My Land - Short Film Recreation Evaluation Todorov's Narrative Equilibrium - Couple are going on a walk through a field, thinking that it is a public footpath. Disruption - Man drives up in his car and tells them they can't be there. Recognition - Man points a gun at them, saying that he'll fight them if they don't leave. Attempts To Repair - Woman reassures him that they're going, so he doesn't need to shoot them. New Equilibrium - The couple is dead and the man goes off, keeping his land private. Mise-En-Scene Setting - The setting is a field/public footpath in the day time. Props - The props used are a gun and a car. Costume - The farmer is wearing a hat and rain coat and wellies. The man and woman are wearing casual clothes i.e. a jacket, coat and jeans. Overall Evaluation I think the film was recreated to the best of our abilities. Some things that could be improved upon are the casting, setting and ...

Origional Booksmart research

The reviews for this movie are very mixed. 10/10 I love coming of age movies because they are always so relatable since we are always evolving, and coming of age is not a one time event. It's not a movie you have to google afterwards because you didn't get it, it's a movie that makes you feel hopeful, thankful and just plain jolly, and makes you genuinely care about the characters. Booksmart may be a little rough around the edges and has a couple of things that didn't quite pan out but it doesn't mean it's not worth watching. It honestly made me feel as if I could do anything and made me value my friendships, as if I could do anything. And also, yes, I agree that some actors are a little too old to play high school kids but Billie Lourd did a fantastic job as usual, and Beanie is PERFECT for this part although she is 26. Remember not all movies have to make you lose faith in humanity, as this one does the exact opposite. Finally, all I have l...

Get off my land - script

Match on action and 180 degree rule

Practical task 1

Practical Task 1 Equilibrium - Boy is in school with other pupils; it's a busy corridor. Mise-En Scene - The people in the shot are wearing school uniform to show that they are young. He is in a suit to show he is in sixth form and can be on his phone. It is an establishing shot to set the scene and show the characters' normal. Disruption - The pupils vanish from         the corridor suddenly. Boy doesn't notice       because he is distracted by his phone. Mise-En Scene - He has a phone as a prop so that he misses the change. It is an eye level shot. Recognition - Boy looks up from his phone and sees the empty corridor. Mise-En Scene - A wide/long shot to show the complete emptiness of the scene and the isolation he feels. The lighting is harsh as the situation is dire. If this were a moving shot the lights could flicker to create an eerie atmosphere. Attempts to recov...
